i must add that it makes me happy to see people treating their animals right, because this training in effect keeps the animal out of trouble which lessens the amount of times you have to tell it off, prople forget that when a dog misbehaves its sortof your own responsibility too.
my dog is already 1 year old is there a chance for them to learn those tricks?
@srhead69 We didn’t get Midnight until she was 8 weeks old (they shouldn’t be separated from their mothers until then). They learn very quickly- the most important thing is to use positive reinforcement and to be consistent and patient!!
That’s really neat, I’m about to purchuse an 8 week old black lab. He hasn’t has any training, is it still possible to dicipline him like that? Any tips for a first time pup owner?

The thing about Labradors is that they like praise so be sure to award him/her with a treat when he/she does what you want.

I have a 7 week old labrador and she has already learned to stay. Just tell her to SIT and than you tell her STAY couple of times and throw a treat on the ground, at first you can hold her by a collar until you say OK, after a couple of times you will be able to let go her collar and just say STAY and OK!
Labs are the BEST!
how old was Midnight when this was filmed? How did you make her focus like that when she was young?

@musicalsgal2007 The clicking sound is from a clicker- it can be used during training (the clicking lets them know they’ve done something right- it’s faster than a “good girl”).

How is this done, my 11 week lab mix, also black, is playful, not a big hassle but I’m afraid he will be once he is older.
You can try to treat often while she’s staying (so it’s fun for her), and start with very short intervals of a couple seconds. Then lengthen the time you treat. Good luck!
